Atium was originally thought to be the tenth and last metal and most powerful of all the metals. However, it was discovered that there are more metals.
Atium allows the allomancer using it to see your opponents actions before they happen, and effectively makes one's self invincible unless your opponent has atium, or electrum.
In Feruchemy, Atium allows the user to store age.
